The finale to 10 Chamber’s gruesome co-op shooter, GTFO, reached its end tonight at The Game Awards 2023. The final Rundown, 8.0: Duality, maxes out the number of available missions to 80 total for players to enjoy. The best part is that at the same time, GTFO: Final Edition was announced, bringing back all of the Rundowns that you might have missed from previous updates. With a free weekend where players can test whether or not the gruesome shooter is for them, they’ll find out that without strategic planning and thoughtful loadouts, everyone is expendable.
GTFO: Final Edition’s Rundown 8.0: Duality Update Is Here
“The GTFO story began at The Game Awards when the game was revealed back in 2017, so of course, we felt that it was right to also announce the final chapter at this year’s show. It’s important to note that while the story of GTFO comes to a close, the game will continue to be alive and kicking. Whether you’re a new player or part of the existing GTFO community, the full game with four years worth of content is available to complete from start to finish — if you and your squad are up for the challenge, that is.”
Ulf Andersson, 10 Chambers founder and creative director.
Trapped by the enigmatic Warden, survival in GTFO hinges on teamwork, communication, and strategic ammo management. Delving deeper into the complex, players face horrifying creatures with unique challenges, emphasizing the life-or-death importance of collaboration. Customizable loadouts, Artifacts, and skill-altering Boosters enhance the journey while unraveling clues adds a layer of mystery to the narrative of captivity under The Warden’s ruthless rule. In GTFO, cooperation is vital, and every decision determines the thin line between life and a brutal demise at the hands of a merciless adversary.
“It feels bittersweet to move on from the world of GTFO after living in it for seven years, but it was time to stretch our creative muscles and start something new. A considerable amount of work was put into the narrative and level design for the conclusion of GTFO’s story arc, and we hope that our community will find it satisfying.”
Simon Viklund, 10 Chambers co-founder and narrative and audio director.
GTFO will continue to receive ongoing support with bug fixes. The previously released Rundown content updates, following a unique quarterly cycle since the game’s 2019 launch, will remain accessible for both existing fans and newcomers, providing continuous content enjoyment.
