Nintendo has revealed the final pre-launch trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The three-minute-long trailer showcases much more of what players can expect in this new expansion of Hyrule and dives deeper into the gameplay, narrative, mechanics, and characters.

Tears of the Kingdom Final Trailer: Zelda Lives, New Gameplay, Story, and More!

The final trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom provides perhaps the most in-depth into the new kingdom of Hyrule that fans have gotten so far. With one month left until the game releases, Nintendo has shared the most extensive look at the game it has to offer.

The final trailer showcases several new cutscenes and gameplay footage for Tears of the Kingdom. Producer Eiji Aonuma shared exclusive gameplay footage of the game during a presentation in March, which dived deep into mechanics such as new abilities and enemies.

This final trailer for Tears of the Kingdom showcases more footage of locations and enemies players will encounter outside of what was shown in the Aonuma showcase, several of which appear to require the use of many of the game’s new mechanics.

Several new characters also seemed to be teased in the trailer, including what may be confirmation of the return of Demise.

Demise is the Demon King and the final boss in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, and his defeat at the end of the game begins to cycle, which seems to be the return of the series’ main antagonist, Ganondorf. It has been theorized that he will either return in Tears of the Kingdom or manifest through Ganondorf in some way.

In addition, it appears players will be able to team up with characters from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on combat scenarios, such as Prince Sidon of the Zora and Princess Riju of the Gerudo, to take on the forces of Ganondorf.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom releases exclusively for Nintendo Switch on May 12, 2023. Pre-orders are available now.
