If you’re familiar with the Fire Emblem franchise, then you know about Support Ranks. You can form support bonds with the various characters both on and off the battlefield. These bonds rise in rank from C to A. However, Alear has the ability to gain one extra rank: Rank S. There are a few specific things you must do if you want to reach Support Rank S in Fire Emblem Engage.

Support Rank S in Fire Emblem Engage – What is it?

How to Reach Support Rank S in Fire Emblem Engage

As we stated, only Alear can reach Support Rank S in the game. This means they can form the deepest, most personal connection possible with one of their companions. In most cases, this bond is romantic. However, as Alear can form this bond with any companion regardless of gender or age, some of the connections are meaningful friendships.

How to Reach Support Rank S in Fire Emblem Engage

Alear cannot reach Support Rank S until near the end of the game. It begins in Chapter 23: The Four Hounds. During this time, you will unlock the Paralogue: The Connector. During this mission, you will discover the Pact Ring. This Ring holds the power of Alear’s mother, and it is to be given to an ally that Alear trusts the most.

You can only give the Pact Ring to one ally who is already at an A Rank with you.

Now that we have the Pact Ring, we are ready to reach Support Rank S with an ally in Fire Emblem Engage.

First, we need to retrieve the Pact Ring from our room in Somniel. Interact with the Memento Drawer to get the Ring. Once you choose which ally you want to give it to, you will get a unique cutscene with them and a much bigger boost when you stand with each other in battle.

Once you reach Support Rank S with a companion, their entry in the Fire Emblem Engage Ally Notebook is updated too. Plus, they will appear with Alear in the Epilogue with a unique entry.

Another feature we touched on is that the Pact Ring does not necessarily indicate romance. Some characters offer a purely platonic, yet no less meaningful, friendship with Alear. Others remain in a more flirtatious realm without being completely romantic.

Below is a list of the specific relationships Alear will get once they reach Support Rank S with an ally in Fire Emblem Engage:

Platonic Friendship Romantic Relationship Flirtatious Relationship
Alcryst Alfred Framme
Amber Bunet Fogado
Anna Chloé Hortensia
Boucheron Citrinne Rosado
Celine Diamant Timerra
Clanne Goldmary Vander
Etie Ivy Yunaka
Jean Jade
Lindon Kagetsu
Saphir Lapis
Veyle Louis
Zelkov Mauvier
Merrin
Pandero
Panette
Seadall

So, you can play as either male or female Alear and give the Pact Ring to any of the above characters as long as they are already at an A Rank with you.

Fire Emblem Engage is available on Nintendo Switch.
