Supergirl has come out swinging following the show’s relocation to the CW. Casting Superman as an onscreen character and bringing in Lynda Carter as the president. The show’s determination to earn its place on its new network is clear. Therefore, bringing in Miss Martian is a step in the right direction.

All Miss Martian, all awesome.
Turns out Mars doesn’t need women; they’re doing just fine in that

category.

Due to the nature of the show, Supergirl needs plenty of strong female characters. So while having Superman show up is great, bringing in Miss Martian is a great move.

Known as M’gann M’orzz, in the comics, she is a white martian. She fled Mars to escape the civil war between the green and white factions. While it’s unknown how close to the comics Sharon Leal’s portrayl will stick, it’s bound to be big news for J’onn.

Furthermore, the official synopsis for her debut episode is as follows.

“When Kara (Melissa Benoist) and Alex (Chyler Leigh) investigate the murder of an unregistered alien, the trail leads to an alien fight club run by Roulette (guest star Dichen Lachman), the ringmaster who commands aliens to fight in mortal combat for the entertainment of rich humans.

While trying to stop the fighting, Supergirl and Martian Manhunter find themselves up against a surprising opponent. Meanwhile, Hank (David Harewood) is thrilled to have found another Martian and tries to get to know M’Gann (guest star Sharon Leal) better. Supergirl takes Mon-El (Chris Wood) under her wing and begins to train him.”

Supergirl Season 2 promises to go from strength to strength based on this and other news. With more characters from the wider DC verse and crossovers with the other CW properties. Stay tuned to The Nerd Stash for more Supergirl info as it happens.
