Years of patient waiting are about to pay off because Funimation has finally released official footage for season two of Attack on Titan. While a specific release date was not released, we can expect the anime’s release in the April of next year. While the trailer shows some very familiar faces, it also gives us a look at some new, monstrous titans.

The trailer flips around quickly; so I advise watching it more than once for you die hard fans like myself. The trailer begins with a breach in the Rose Wall, the second outermost wall protecting the inner city. The usual suspects, Eren, Levi, Armin, and Mikasa, are all seen flying around defeating titans. The trailer offers a few, pretty cool clips of Eren in his titan form as well.

These new titans will only be new to the fans of the animes as these titans have already premiered in the manga. The trailer for the second season of Attack on Titan spends a lot of time on one new titan in particular, the furry titan. The trailer shows this titan throwing a horse towards a survey corps and bending down towards a human with a malicious grin. Another titan is shown jumping from titan to titan as he bites into them. The narration then explains that some titans are here to protect humans from others of their kind. Perhaps this is one of these protector titans?

Since season one of the anime, there have been many Attack on Titan video games, and a full-length, live-action screen adaptation. Unfortunately, most of these were poorly received flops. Fans of the cult classic have been waiting, through many delays, for the continuation of Eren, Misaka, and Armine’s story. The original crew that brought us the first season of Attack on Titan also worked on the second season, finally giving the fans exactly what they’ve been waiting for!
