The London Games Festival 2022 has selected Unknown Number to be a part of the event. Developer Godolphin Games will be showcasing their unique thriller when the event goes live Friday, April 1. It will run for 10 days, ultimately concluding on Sunday, April 10. Unknown Number will be among selected titles for the “Narrative Excellence” category.

Use Your Voice to Control Unknown Number

In Unknown Number, you play through the lens of an individual who starts to receive random phone calls. They all come in shapes and sizes, with some even sounding very troubled and disturbed. But instead of having a fully-voiced protagonist, it will be you who will be providing the dialogue. Unknown Number is truly an experimental thriller title where your voice controls the movement of the story. You’ll use your vocals to solve puzzles, impersonate other characters, join an eco-movement that’s being led by kids, and even tell jokes. Your voice is the tool, and it acts as a controller of some sort.

The game has been in development for a bit, but it’s getting the attention it deserves with the London Games Festival. Thomas Keane, Creative Director of Godolphin Games, commented on the game’s selection for the event, saying:

We’re thrilled that Unknown Number has been selected for ‘Narrative Excellence’ at the London Games Festival. Voice control puts players at the heart of the action like never before. After all, who needs a fancy avatar when you can speak to characters directly?”

Unknown Number is due for a Q2 2022 release, but we’ll get to catch some gameplay when it’s finally showcased at the aforementioned event. You can visit the Festival’s website right here to check out more announcements and information.
