The Pokémon Company and Pokémon UNITE have announced the release of the very first two chapters of the Pokémon UNITE manga, formally titled Pokémon UNITE – Come Over to Aeos Island! Previously teased on May 13, 2022, the manga will be set in the world of the game. It will feature art from Hitoshi Ariga, an acclaimed character designer and official TCG illustrator, who has created the art for over 100 cards featuring Pokémon such as Honedge, Tyrantum, and Corviknight.

The Pokémon UNITE manga, Come Over to Aeos Island!, was formally announced on May 13, 2022. The first two chapters were released earlier today, with the third coming soon. The manga features a new story that gives insight into the life of Professor Phorus, the main professor of the Pokémon UNITE game, as well as an origin for the Pokemon Unite competition format. The official description of the manga reads:
“Learn more about Aeos Island, the mysterious Aeos energy that abounds there, and (of course) the exciting Unite Battles in which Pokémon compete in this new manga inspired by Pokémon UNITE. More chapters will arrive in the future, so stay tuned!”
The first chapter will focus on the adventures of a child professor Phorus and how she was inspired to research the mysterious Aeos Energy, the energy needed to win matches in Pokémon UNITE, eventually leading to the establishment of Aeos Island competitions. The second chapter focuses on how Unite Battles came to be and predominantly features the character Zirco, who runs the Zirco Trading shop in-game that allows players to buy and exchange various Holowear and accessories.
The artist for the manga is Hitoshi Ariga, an acclaimed character designer best known for his work on the official Pokémon Trading Card Game as an illustrator of over 100 cards. He is also known for having worked his work on the popular manga adaption of Capcom’s Mega Man series, as well as the manga adaptation of the classic mecha series, The Big O. He is even credited for providing the design for Professor Phorus and Researcher Erbie.
