Given that the 2020 United States election is tomorrow, the general public (including gamers) no doubt have politics on their mind. It’s an incredibly important election this time around, with an incredibly substantial amount of people voting early. With that being the case, it’s almost funny the timing of Humble Games’ latest title. Floor 13: Deep State, a game about exploring evil within a government, is now available on PC through Steam. The team released a launch trailer, that of which you can find below.
Floor 13: Deep State puts you in the shoes of Director General of an unknown and rather odd agency. It’s one goal is to keep the government as popular as it can, which already has its implications of mistrust and corruption. As Director General, it’s up to you to make tough choices to determine what society does and doesn’t see. Should you allow the release of fake news? Should you intercept illegal surveillance? Every choice you make has a genuine impact on the nation, leaving either the country prosperous or in its downfall. How will you serve your nation?
There’s a unique premise in Floor 13: Deep State, with numerous scenarios that promise to challenge your moral views. I’m always a fan of tough choices, so I might just have to check this one out. It’s the best time as well, as the game is having a 10% launch discount on Steam for the first week of release. If evil governments are your thing, you probably won’t want to pass this one up.
Funny enough, this isn’t the first Floor 13 game. The previous title in the series, titled Floor 13, was released in 1991 to mild reception. Despite that, it had quite the cult following which lead to an interest in Floor 13: Deep State. We’ll have to see if it was done justice. Will you be playing Floor 13: Deep State?
