A woman in Fort Myers, Florida, is accusing the popular pizza chain Domino’s of crossing an ethical line after she noticed a sign inside one of its locations that she believes compares workers to animals.
While shopping at a Walmart where the restaurant was housed, the woman spotted a bold sign that read “Please Do Not Feed the Employees” on the glass partition separating customers from the area where workers prepare food. According to the shopper, the message immediately made her uncomfortable because it reminded her of the types of warnings commonly seen at zoos telling visitors not to feed the animals.
“This kind of bothers me a little bit,” she said in a video shared to TikTok. “Imagine already having to show up to work at a place that literally looks like a cage, and you’re probably not making the most money, and the place you’re working for is picking on you saying ‘don’t feed the employees’ like you’re some type of animal.”
The woman also criticized the business in her caption, saying the company should feel ashamed “for approving this nonsense” and that it needed to “do better” when it comes to how employees are treated.
Netizens Were Divided About the Florida Woman’s Claims
Some people in her comments agreed with her and felt the sign was inappropriate. One netizen wrote, “This is such a strange sign.” Another commented, “It’s giving ‘please don’t feed the animals’ 🫤 everything about this don’t sit right with me cause why.” A third said, “Proof corporations think their employees are dogs and that’s why they give us scrap wages.” A fourth added, “What is wrong with these companies why are they so inhumane 😳.”
However, others believed the Florida woman had taken things too seriously and argued that the sign was meant as a joke. “It’s not that serious,” one comment read. Someone else wrote, “Yall know it’s a joke right? Because they’re behind glass. Gosh.” Another viewer remarked, “Geez ppl be digging too much,” while one person sarcastically chimed in, “How can I be a victim today.”
