On TikTok, country singer Emily Zeck first uploaded a video sharing the fantastic news that she is expecting a baby. But after this first video about her pregnancy, the Florida influencer began to notice that almost 3,000 people unfollowed her. Rather than responding, she made a new video pointing out how strange she found this, and somewhat amusing. Especially since Emily herself says she is already in her 30s and in a healthy marriage, so she doesn’t understand what could be so shocking about her having a baby. Especially because she is happy with her husband, her life, her career, and she wants to be a mother.
Another thing that stood out in her video is that the singer says that most of the unfollows were from men. So if they were against singers having children, it’s even stranger, because there are many male singers with one or even many more babies. But several followers think the massive unfollow was more because those men fantasized about having something romantic with the singer at some point. Although it is quite common for influencers to share aspects of their parenthood on social media or in their advertisements, not everyone has to follow this rule. Emily Zeck already has her TikTok account with content beyond her music, like her personal life or her house. An example is when she made a TikTok series about how she rescued a small baby bird that came into her garden, and its parents were trying to help their feathered kid. Even so, whether Emily continues or changes her content is up to her.
