It’s always been interesting to me when people are willing to be stubborn in public when they are clearly in the wrong. A video from Florida shows a woman trying to drive through a Publix parking lot, only to be blocked by a Karen who doesn’t want to drive in the correct direction on a one-way street. Fortunately, there were plenty of other people in the parking lot watching things as it went down.
The above video looks to be taken from the inside of the original poster’s car while she is driving through a Publix parking lot in Pembroke Pines, Florida. Like most grocery store parking lots, the lanes that drivers use to search for parking are only one-way, meaning that if a car drives in the wrong direction, it can potentially block other drivers.
You can see that she is trying to leave the parking lot, but can’t because of one Karen who just refuses to back up. The woman recording attempts to tell the other woman various times to back up, since other vehicles are waiting and the street is only in one direction. However, instead of backing up, the woman tries to stand her ground, not moving while other cars honk in the background.
The woman recording does not let up, and even puts her car in park at one point to really make her point. Eventually, a man walks up to the other woman’s car and knocks on the window, indicating with his hands for her to move back. This is where the video ends, but I’d like to think that she finally backed up after being approached by someone for not knowing how to drive.
Commentators flooded the comments, condemning the other woman for making things harder on everyone else. One comment in particular said, “They think they can do whatever they want and get their way 😂” Having been born and raised in Florida, this is something that drivers down there do just about every day. Others who commented and also live in the same area agreed, with another of my favorite comments saying, “How do so many people have the audacity to get mad when THEY are in the wrong while driving lol I hate living down here.”
At the end of the day, it really is about safety, and if the other woman hadn’t as stubborn as she was, then the flow of traffic would have continued like normal, and no one would have been approached to move out of the way. Hopefully, she learns her lesson and doesn’t make the same mistake twice.
