Sitting on your own porch should not turn into a confrontation with a neighbor. Yet, a short video from Florida captures a white woman ordering her Black neighbor inside her home before making a chilling reference to a case in which a Black mother was fatally shot by her white neighbor.
Rather than retreat indoors, the woman filming calmly challenges her neighbor to call the police.
The video was shared on TikTok by @datgurlretta. Recorded in low light, the roughly 27-second clip shows the two women arguing outside their homes. The footage is dark and shaky, but their exchange is clear enough to capture the moment the disagreement takes a disturbing turn.
The white woman begins by ordering her Black neighbor to go inside. “Go back in your house before I call the cops,” she tells her. The woman filming doesn’t seem intimidated. Instead, she responds, “Go ahead and call them. Go ahead and call the cops. Please do.”
Rather than ending the argument, the neighbor escalates her remarks. “You know what? It is gonna be another Susan Lorincz,” she says.
The reference is particularly disturbing because Lorincz was convicted in the 2023 shooting death of Ajike “AJ” Owens, a Black mother of four, in Ocala, Florida. Lorincz fatally shot Owens through a locked front door following a dispute involving children playing outside. She claimed self-defense but was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 25 years in prison.
After the neighbor invokes Lorincz’s name, the woman filming responds briefly, “Okay!” The other woman continues ordering her to get inside. But the Black woman refuses to give up her place on her own porch.
“No, I will not go back inside my house,” she responds.
The neighbor then declares, “I can sit out on my front porch.” “And so can I!” the woman filming fires back.
The exchange ends with the neighbor going back inside. The video does not show any physical violence, but the reference to Lorincz’s case has left viewers questioning the seriousness of the threat and whether police were contacted afterward.
Internet Reacts to Florida Neighbor’s Alleged Susan Lorincz Threat in TikTok Video
Several commenters urged the woman to take the threat seriously. One wrote, “The audacity it took for her to say “I can sit out on my front porch if I want to” while telling you to go back in your house is crazy. And YOU should call the cops because saying it’s gonna be another Susan Lorincz is a threat.”
Another suggested pursuing financial consequences, commenting, “Sue her home owners insurance PLEASE !!! Y’all gotta hit them where it hurt other than their faces.” Others focused on the neighbor’s familiarity with the case. “The fact that she memorized her name. She’s been contemplating this,” one viewer wrote.
Another was equally direct: “That was a direct threat on your life!” One commenter also raised the possibility of civil action, writing, “You can sue her for civil damages for threatening to unalive you. Those explict threats using a real life homicide case such as Susan Lorincz is grounds for a powerful civil lawsuit and it’s on video.”
A final viewer expressed frustration over how authorities might interpret the exchange, commenting, “Definitely angers me that the police would say that’s not a threat.”
The video does not show whether police filed a report or whether authorities assessed the neighbor’s remarks.
