Even during heated situations, violence is never acceptable. With that in mind, a Florida man was caught on camera attempting to strike a younger bystander who was recording the encounter. Details surrounding what preceded the confrontation remain unclear, as the video continues to circulate online.
The footage allegedly takes place at Palm Coast, Florida — as revealed in the opening part of the clip — and centers on an elderly man, who is sporting a yellow hoodie, beige shorts, and flip flops. At the beginning, you can clearly see the aggressor attempting to throw a punch at the person recording, though he misses and stumbles momentarily. The cameraman can be heard exclaiming, “Oh, oh, oh! Don’t be old, Flip Flops!” while the Florida man threatens, “You’re gonna get [expletive] up.”
As the cameraman backs away, the Florida man continues to pursue him. A woman who appears to be the aggressor’s partner or girlfriend attempts to calm the situation down and intervene. After a brief back and forth, the cameraman asks, “Did you know that that was my car? Say yes or no? Say no. I keep it for sure. If you wanna go to jail. And then where does she go when you go to jail. Where? Get in the car, baby. You’re 50 years old. If we see each other again. Don’t [expletive] up like this. No. I’m a friendly guy. You’re not. You’re drunk.” In the final moments of the video, the man appears unsteady as he sits in the driver’s seat of his vehicle.
As expected, the clip has prompted a wave of reactions online. Over on Reddit, one user wrote, “Don’t be old! Awesome line! You know he was furious! Ahahaha.” while another added, “Drunk and behind the wheel, id have caught his plates and called the cops the moment he pulled out“. A third declared, “‘You’re drunk’ as he starts driving haha. What a [expletive]“.
Fortunately, no one appears to have been injured in the incident, and it’s hoped the man will think twice before escalating a future dispute.
