No parent ever wants to find out their child is getting bullied in school. Kids can say some really mean stuff to one another, especially over things you can’t control. A Florida mom was devastated when she learned her child was being bullied for her clothing brand. As any mom would do, even though it’s difficult on her income, she decided to jump into action. And no, she didn’t do it with her fists!
TikTok user Chasing the Dream Amanda explained in her video that kids learned her 11-year-old daughter was wearing Justice brand clothing. It was a popular brand with fun clothing. This mom, however, lives on a strict income just like so many Americans. She didn’t want to cave into her daughter’s bullies but also wanted to make her child’s school experience comfortable. So, she decided to get her daughter “more mature clothes” for her to wear to school that suited her unique style.
This amazing mother listened to her daughter’s concerns without batting an eye like so many of us would do. It’s hard out there as a parent on a limited income. Amanda shows how she packed up, went to Target, and bought her daughter a new wardrobe. She shows off the clothing and says, “These are the styles that I see all the kids wearing.” And the best part? Mom scored some amazing deals on the clothing, so win-win for everyone!
Moments like these leave you feeling helpless, as a parent. Why are so many parents not talking to their children at home about being kind to one another? It costs nothing at all to base your opinions of another person on their attitude and not what they’re wearing. You can tell throughout Amanda’s video she’s struggling with what’s happened to her daughter.
Commenters totally understood where she was coming from, even echoing what I said. Kids can be mean! “Kids are making fun of Justice these days?! I remember if you had Justice stuff you were that girl.”
One company even decided to step up and offer some help to Amanda to make her daughter’s dreams come true. Burlington itself proclaimed, “We’d love to help you shop for your daughter. Check your DMs!” You love seeing a community coming together!
