We’ve all had our fair share of over-entitled people demanding respect, but refusing to offer the same in return. It’s easier to disengage when we’re not face-to-face with the source of the arrogance. Yet in person, and in business, confrontation may be needed. When a rude senior woman decided to verbally bash an employee in a Florida consignment shop, the owner stepped up to the plate and ordered her out of the store.
Lynn is a full-time reseller who owns Lynn’s Closet Boutique (LLC) in West Palm Beach, Florida. On October 23rd, she added a video clip to her TikTok. The footage showed a disagreement between an older customer and a store employee. Lynn, who was also inside the Florida boutique, stepped in to help clear things up.
The woman had been trying to sell the shop her clothing, and for whatever reason, she wanted her items returned. As this was against their store policy, Lynn explained that she’d instructed her employee how she should respond:
When she told me what happened, I instructed her to let you know that we don’t have to give you your stuff back, because you signed a contract.
Although it appears that the Florida customer still got all her clothing back, the resolution wasn’t to her satisfaction. She continued to argue, repeatedly saying the employee was not only rude, but obnoxious.
Lynn responded, stating, “Well I think you’re obnoxious, so get out of my store, lady!”
The woman continued to protest all the way out the front door. She stated that she deals with plenty of consignment shops, and that none of them treat her so badly. In no unclear terms, Lynn informed her to take her clothes to those locations instead. She also banned the woman from the West Palm Beach, Florida, store.
Viewers React to Florida Shop Owner’s Video
The video’s comment thread quickly filled up. Many viewers praised the Florida owner for going to bat for those who worked for her:
This is so satisfying to have a manager that actually defends employees against these rude people and not suck up to them[.]
Lynn responded, stating she doesn’t stand for anybody treating her workers unkindly. She also let her viewers know she doesn’t have any regrets.
Lesson learned: If going into Lynn’s Closet Boutique in West Palm Beach, Florida, treat others how you expect to be treated. If not, Lynn will make sure you have the day that you deserve.
