Lauren Roth and her husband Matt were enjoying the cold ocean waters when a lifeguard came bearing bad news. The man stated they were clearing the waters due to a shark sighting. Despite Lauren being in very shallow water, the sea can be a dangerous place.
According to Newsweek, the Florida woman posted a TikTok of the situation, and it has quickly gone viral due to the close call it was. The video shows Lauren standing in what the caption says is very cold water. As the woman attempts to brave the elements, she is asked by the lifeguard to leave the water. Moments later, the shark can be seen swimming by in almost the exact same spot where Luaren was standing. It could nearly be compared to a scene from the famous film “Jaws.”
Florida Woman Has a Shallow Water Encounter With a Shark
The animal’s dorsal fin (the fin on its back) can be seen surfacing through the water, as well as some of the shark’s tail fin. The viral TikTok now has around 9.3 million views, as well as 371K likes. It would seem safe to say the internet loves a good shark encounter. However, while Lauren appeared to be very calm about the situation, she told the source that it was definitely shocking. She even told her husband, Matt, that she was “never going back,” referring to the ocean. However, it has been said that Lauren is still loving the water just as much as always.
On the other hand, the comment section on TikTok was not very calm. While some users found the animal very beautiful and the encounter special, many others were terrified. “I can’t believe how close to the shore it was,” one wrote.
