A woman in Miami, Florida, got into the elevator with one of her Hispanic neighbors. This person, for whatever reason, started badmouthing her for her race and looks, all in Spanish. Thinking she wouldn’t understand her, the lady and her friend were left in shock when it turned out that she could, and that she is half Hispanic herself.
The story was summed up by TikTok user bambiwaldorf (Bambi). She explained how Miami has a “diverse group of Hispanic/Latino people that live in the Miami-Dade metropolitan area.”
However, despite this fact, she stated that Hispanic people come in “all different races and shades,” and, for that reason, some Hispanic people, according to her, believe that other Hispanics who look a little different don’t know how to speak or understand Spanish.
Unfortunately, she was the victim of that same symptom, describing herself as “racially ambiguous.” While on her building’s elevator, she encounters one of her neighbors, a lady, with a friend. Bambi was dressed for the gym, while the other women were dressed for lunch, all covered up.
Suddenly, the Hispanic ladies in the elevator started badmouthing her in Spanish, criticizing her attire and her looks.
“Look at that bad hair, that frizzy, curly hair,” the lady said in Spanish, as per Bambi. “I didn’t know we had Black people in this building.”
Eventually, Bambi, who is half-Hispanic, interrupted her neighbor in Spanish, shocking the women who were just belittling her.
“Ma’am, are you talking about me?” Bambi asked in Spanish, according to her. “You’re asking why people like me live in this apartment building. I live on the highest floor here, and you live on floor 8.”
Going Off At Hispanic Lady, Reactions
Bambi, fed up with the Hispanic Florida woman, went off on her. “I’m on the way to the gym to do my workouts to get pretty and fit,” she told the lady. “And you’re here talking about me when you like a refrigerator.”
The TikToker then told the lady she had a “horrible” and “mean” spirit, adding that she didn’t know her at all. She then went on to criticize the woman’s nose, blaming it on a bad surgeon’s job.
Many users reacted to her story, blasting the Hispanic lady for acting in such a mean-spirited way.
“Mind you, everyone speaks Spanish in Miami,” one user wrote. Another one commented, “This is why I need to practice my Spanish more bc girl you read her DOWN.” A third one added, “I don’t speak Spanish, but my mother does. And she would tell me stories like this all the time.”
Next time, that Florida lady will think twice before badmouthing others, especially Bambi, and especially in Spanish.
