The death of a family member is always a difficult situation to navigate. However, one woman in Florida has an added layer of shock to include in her grieving process. After the death of her father, she discovered that he may have been keeping a secret for decades, and it definitely involves her and the rest of her family. Now, there are so many unanswered questions that may never get answers.
In a TikTok video posted by @adventuresoflaceyruth, the Florida woman, named Lacey, shares a photo of her father in what appears to be a sweet family Christmas photo from the 1980s. However, there is just one problem. The woman and child in the photo aren’t her family. Now she doesn’t know what to think.
The post consists of a photo, which features Lacey’s father standing in front of a Christmas tree wearing a dark suit and a red tie. He has a large, happy smile on his face as the rest of the background is filled out with poinsettias. In front of the man is a person dressed in a Santa suit. A woman sits on one side of his lap. She is wearing a blue dress, jewelry, and has her hair perfectly coiffed. Her smile seems to say it all: she’s so happy.
Florida Woman Left With Questions After Finding Photo Of Strangers In Late Father’s Belongings
On the other side of Santa’s lap is a little girl in a holiday dress. The child is wearing white tights, and is dressed in classic 1980s fashion. The photo looks very much like a happy family picture. However, there is just one problem. It’s not Lacey, her mother, or anyone in her family. In fact, no one else seems to know who the woman and child are either.
“IS THIS YOUR MOMMA because if that’s your dad, he’s also my dad, and we should probably have a conversation. WHAT IS THIS FAMILY PHOTO IN MY DEAD DADS BOX OF STUFF. My stepmom is pissed. Also, both my parents are dead and all the grandparents so I have nobody to ask about this,” the caption of the photo reads.
TikTok immediately became invested in the story, and now want to know if Lacey’s father might have had a secret second family. “By chance did the funeral have a guestbook? Start checking names you don’t recognize,” one person suggested. “What in the Hallmark Christmas Movie is this?? A Very Secret Family Christmas.” another joked.
“The way society would just allow men to do the bare minimum regarding family completely enabled these men to have multiple families over the years,” a third person chimed in. “Let me get ready for this wild ride,” a fourth comment read.
So far, the Florida woman doesn’t have any answers. However, with the power of social media, and possibly DNA testing, she might be able to find some answers to the questions that her late father left behind.
