You pay for your room and board, find events to go to and activities, spend time packing, then what happens? Your vacation goes south. There’s always at least one thing that goes wrong on vacation. Like one Florida woman, who booked some fun on a Norwegian Cruise Line, and lo and behold, something went wrong. While it didn’t threaten her life, it would certainly threaten your lunch. Not to mention being incredibly unhygienic.
“I literally just said to my sister, I don’t think I like Norwegian,” TikTok user Cassandrabotnick (Cassie) says at the start of her video. She then reveals the bathroom of their guest room, which is steadily filling up with water. They had placed a towel down to keep the door open and it seems the drain underneath the toilet isn’t even functioning properly, either. To make matters worse, it was 7:30 in the morning.
Cassie gets to calling the front desk, noting that the bathroom is filling up “really fast,” to which the employee says they’re calling someone “right away.” After just two minutes of flooding, the bathroom is nearly covered in water less than an inch deep. Cassie takes this as an opportunity to vlog about the day, while the bathroom continues to leak in the background.
It seems the trip was practically doomed from the start, according to Cassie, who recounts the already negative experience she was having. After badmouthing a company, of course something would go wrong, right? Cassie shares that everyone was being “rude” to them during boarding and “dinner was not good.” That was particularly disappointing since she general likes the food.
In several update videos, Cassie shows how dangerously close the bathroom got to flooding. Even with how they had to step down into the bathroom, it was nearly at the top of the step in 15 minutes. No one had showed up to help until nearly two-and-a-half hours later. And the worse of it was the bathroom wasn’t even cleaned when they could return.
What People Had to Say About Cassie’s Frustrating Cruise Experience
People were baffled that Norwegian Cruise Line would take so long to fix what could’ve been a costly repair. Not to mention the hassle of having to relocate guests (if they have space). Others made light of the situation, while some were trying to offer advice.
“Just remember…2 people can fit on 1 door,” one TikTok user wrote. Mythbusters even did an episode about it!
“Is there not a water shut off behind the toilet?” one commenter asked. Cassie replied, “No lol.” Sometimes they’re located in the hallways, as one TikTok user pointed out. However, it’s not always accessible to guests.
Some commenters suggested creating a barrier with towels, especially near the door. And that certainly would’ve helped, but it took 15 minutes for it to nearly flood. Regardless of how it happened, let’s hope Cassie at least got a discount for the rest of the trip!
