I’ve always imagined that DoorDash drivers don’t really get the best end of the stick whenever they deliver food to my house. Something about paying someone to get in their car and drive my order of food for an indescribable amount feels off. Well, one New York girl who was a former DoorDash driver revealed exactly why the company let her go, and I have to say, it’s not a good look at all. Apparently, she had filed a sexual assault report, only to have it turned against her, allegedly for no reason. Now, the internet has her back, even going so far as to provide her with legal advice on how to retaliate.
The above video was posted to the TikTok account @irlmonsterhighdoll, a normal girl who posts about her daily life and the things that come from it. According to the video, she had been harassed by a customer who had ordered food, though the original video had been deleted by TikTok, giving her account a strike. In follow-up videos, she explains that she had reported the incident to DoorDash and was awaiting a call from them, which was expected sometime in the next 12 hours. What she found strange about this is that for lesser incidents, she had received a call from the company almost immediately.
Unfortunately, according to the video above, instead of receiving that phone call from DoorDash, she was instead let go from the company. In fact, the company completely deaqctivated her account approximately two days after the incident was reported, still with no reason as to why. Apparently, the company is meant to provide a follow-up email detailing their reasons, but that email never came. Now, the internet is imploring her to press charges, with many of the comments being something along the lines of, “Sooooo weโre boycotting DoorDash yes?“
In fact, so many commentators asked for her to get a lawyer or seek real legal help because, in all honesty, the situation sounds incredibly strange. In a different follow-up video, she very much considers legal action, with many pepole responding with actual advice. One person in particular even said, “Hi, HR here. Contact the EEOC and file the complaint for wrongful termination for filing an assault. Itโs illegal for MULTIPLE reasons. The EEOC may take the case and persue themselves. They can take them to TASK and it will strengthen your private suit, should you decide to persue. KEEP ALL DOCUMENTATION! Everything. Even if you write it on a post it note.“
Many other commentators straight up said that they deleted the app in solidarity, hoping that DoorDash doesn’t get away with it just because this employee doesn’t have a large following. Hopefully, justice is served and either @irlmnonsterhighdoll gets her job back or is able to get assistance elsewhere.
