Forspoken: How to Find More Old Coins
Since the map is so massive in this game in comparison other RPGs, it’s easy enough to hide Old Coins and chests around the map. Though, typically you can find Old Coins in Old Coin Chests, which have a Mystic Lock puzzle. To solve each Mystic Locks puzzle, you’ll have to form a line between two icons by sliding panels around in an area. This will give you some Old Coins.
Old Coins are pretty common around Cipal, hiding on ledges, in crevices, under cliffs, on Dead Man’s Ledge, and The Blessed Plains. Some of them can be grabbed easily, but most of the time you’ll have to utilize your Magical Parkour system in order to reach them.
Forspoken: How to Use Old Coins
Frey isn’t required to buy objects in-game very often, and most things that can be bought with Old Coins are optional, but they have the potential to provide some pretty useful perks. There are three locations where Frey can spend Old Coins. There are the Bookseller, the Cat Lady, and the Curiosity Shop. In Cipal, you can find the Bookseller and the Cat Lady, but not until you’ve progressed through the story quite a way. Though, you can find the Curiosity Shop in Visoria, before you unlock the Cat Lady.
The items in the Curiosity Shop can help Frey craft useful items throughout the game, transform natural resources, increase her mana range, and much more.
