Winterfest 2021 is in full swing on the Fortnite Island and with it comes new cosmetics, skins, and challenges. With each new day, a brand new challenge will be unlocked for players to complete, with the fifth challenge in the growing list being to fly 200 meters with a chicken. For some players, this might not seem to make much sense, but once you know what to do and where to look, it is actually one of the easier challenges to complete in the event. This guide will explain how to fly with a chicken in Fortnite.

How to Fly with a Chicken in Fortnite

To fly with a chicken, players are going to first need to know where to find one. There are a few locations that the chickens can be found, but the place that players are finding the most consistent spawns are in the area where the snowy and desert areas meet. This area is south of Risky Reels and to the west/northwest of Chonker’s Speedway. To get the chicken, players will need to run up to it and interact with it, but it is important to know that it will run away when a player gets too close. You can either grab it quickly before it makes a break for it or, if you are willing to spend some resources, build a quick enclosure around it. Whichever way you get this done, once you get the chicken, you can just start jumping. When you jump with the chicken in hand, it will act as a glider and give to a little extra distance as you slowly return to the ground. The challenge doesn’t require you to cover the full distance in a single flight, so you can just start jumping over and over with the chicken and eventually the distance will accumulate to the 200 needed to complete the challenge. If you want to get it done easily, simply find a high point on the map and jump off it. Either way the challenge will get finished quite quickly.

Once you’ve flown 200 meters with a chicken, the challenge will be completed. Everyday for the Winterfest event, there will be a new challenge unlocked starting at 12 PM ET. The challenges that have been unlocked so far are to warm yourself at the Yule Log in the Cozy Lodge, deal 50 damage to opponents with the Snowball Launcher, collect three Toy Biplanes at Condo Canyon, Greasy Grove, or Sleepy Sound, and travel 200 meters while having icy feet. You will need to complete seven of these challenges to unlock the Snowmando Board Glider and ten of the challenges to unlock the Frosty Back Bling.

Fortnite Chapter 3: Season 1 is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, PC, iOS, and Android.
