Fortnite’s Fourth Birthday Challenges Are Underway

Happy four years to Fortnite! Epic’s incredibly popular battle-royale game turns four this weekend, September 26, and the celebrations are already underway in-game. The celebrations don’t include anything players need to purchase. Instead, they will be able to unlock new festive cosmetics, rewards, and birthday presents scattered across the map, as well as new challenges to complete. A recent Tweet from the official Fortnite Twitter page acknowledged the big day and encouraged fans to join in the celebration.

Challenges, Quests, and Cake!

In addition to the cosmetics players will receive, including a cake-themed staff, there are a host of challenges players will be able to access in order to participate in the celebrations. There are a total of three challenges needed to earn the free Fortnite birthday cosmetics, each one won by completing one of each challenge. These include:

•  Dance around 4 different birthday cakes
•  Throw four birthday presents
• Consume four birthday cakes in different matches

These challenges can be done in any order and can be accessed all across the map. Any named location has a birthday cake, and players are able to drop into one right away and move on to three more in a single round. Each cake can only be consumed in one round, which can be done using the cake slices surrounding any larger one.

Players can find any presents randomly as loot until Monday evening, September 27. All Fortnite birthday-related items and challenges will become unobtainable after that, but players should have little issue seeing them around. Other cosmetic items include a fourth birthday sticker, pickaxe, and back bling, each decked out with slices of purple cake. Other events in Fortnite can still be played during the celebration, including the current Season 8 event, Fortnite: Cubed, and the recently added skin for Venom and Eddie Brock. 

Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 8 is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, PC, iOS, and Android.
