Francia Raisa and Selena Gomez clash over the singer’s recent comments about who she considers her only friend in the Industry. Raisa, who donated a kidney to Gomez in 2017, appeared to take offense to the singer labeling Taylor Swift as her only industry friend.
Francia Raisa React To Selena Gomez Referring To Swift As Her Only Friend
In an interview with Rolling Stone, the Love You Like a Love Song singer said, “I never fit in with a cool group of girls that were celebrities. My only friend in the industry really is Taylor [Swift], so I remember feeling like I didn’t belong.”
Part of Gomez’s quote was highlighted in an E! News Instagram post, where Raisa allegedly left a since-deleted comment which was captured in a screenshot by Pop Crave.
“Interesting,” the 34-year-old actress reportedly wrote in a since-deleted comment. The media site also pointed out that Raisa, who has been friends with Gomez since 2007, does not follow the 30-year-old singer anymore.
The publication’s post implied that Gomez specifically referred to the music industry, but according to the original context, it is unclear if that is the case.
In 2017, Raisa donated a kidney to Gomez, who suffers from lupus, but the following year, the friends were rumored to be feuding.
However, the two reportedly settled their differences in 2021 after the Grown-ish star shared a post about the kidney donation process on Twitter and Instagram, though the Instagram post has been deleted. Raisa also attended Gomez’s 30th birthday in July.
Gomez Addresses The Drama Between Her And Raisa
When a TikTok user posted a video breaking down the drama between Gomez and Raisa, the Ice Cream singer took to the comments of the TikTok video to address the alleged feud.
“Sorry I didn’t mention every person I know,” she commented.
Added to the drama surrounding Gomez’s interview, fans also pointed out that Raisa was not mentioned in the recently released documentary, My Mind and Me, which details the songstress’ struggles with mental health issues.
In 2019, Raisa spoke with ET about her decision to donate her organ to a friend, adding that it was “very faith-based” and she was “grateful for the opportunity.”
