Prince Harry turns to unexpected roles to pass time in Montecito as his LA circle shrinks further. Since relocating to the United States in 2020 to begin a new life with his wife Meghan Markle and their kid, the Duke of Sussex has continued to struggle to truly fit in. Aside from his constant beef with the press, multiple lawsuits, and a pending visa records case, several reports have claimed the prince’s wealthy Montecito neighbors make him feel even more unwelcome with their cold treatment. The unanticipated setbacks have forced the exiled royal to adopt offbeat means to feel a sense of normalcy.
Speaking to The Sun, royal expert Tom Quinn, who authored the upcoming royal book Yes Ma’am discussed Prince Harry’s dilemma as he struggled to adjust to his life in LA. The author explained how part of the Duke’s plight stemmed from his upbringing, considering he grew up under royal guidance, “trained to be a royal” right from his childhood. Hence, in the absence of those charitable events and public engagements that made up the glam side of royalty, the prince found himself with nothing else to do.
Prince Harry’s Three Go-To Tasks to Pass Time in Montecito

To fill the void, the father of three has turned to doing menial tasks around his LA mansion, mostly centered around house chores, dog-walking, and babysitting. Additionally, his Montecito neighbors seemingly have no interest in interacting with him, making Prince Harry’s stay in LA more draining. Tom Quinn explained,
“Friends say he’s made a decent stab at helping around the Montecito mansion, walking the dog, and looking after the children. But the truth is he’s bored. He can’t leave the mansion without a security detail and the couple’s neighbors, many of whom are far more famous than the royal couple, take little notice when they spot Harry out and about.”
On their part, Prince Harry’s LA neighbors have a mouthful to say about him and his wife Meghan since their move to the Montecito neighborhood. Neighbors have especially expressed distaste at the duo for drawing unwarranted attention to their otherwise serene neighborhood, turning it into a tourist attraction. Sources claim their distasteful attitude has led neighbors to tag them as “grifters,” “desperate,” and “the most entitled disingenuous people on the planet.”
Harry’s Thoughts on Very Private Life in LA

According to one insider who previously spoke to Radar Online, his difficulty forging close friendships in the United States often made Prince Harry regret abandoning the royal life, and his UK pals to start a family in LA. The source claimed that aside from the isolation, his inability to explore activities like “boozing, skiing and attending Rugby matches” which he usually would have enjoyed with his guys feeds into Harry’s regrets.
Yet, this isolation is exactly what he cherishes most about life in the United States, per Harry’s words. Speaking at an event in December, the father of two opened up about living in LA, revealing his new life, which afforded him and his family more privacy and freedom than they ever would have in the UK. The prince acknowledged that this life was exactly what his late mom, Princess Diana would have wanted for him. Despite Harry’s optimism, one can’t overlook the Sussexes’ dwindling popularity in the United States, further shrinking his circle. Unless being a lone Island is his thing, there comes a time when such a level of privacy becomes deafening even for a prince
