Having to quit your job without ensuring that there’s a backup cannot be easy, but one former restaurant employee in Frisco, Texas, said she felt she had no choice. In a TikTok video, she alleged that her manager at Dog Haus had been pocketing customer tips that were meant for the staff and gave her “the runaround” when she asked where the money was going.

The woman explained that one busy night she and two co-workers worked hard serving a large group and were expecting the tips to be divided among the three front-of-house employees. But when she asked how they would split the gratuity, her manager told her, “Nobody gets tips… Because you all make hourly.” She pushed back, pointing out that tips were still being charged on customers’ cards and recorded in the system. “I know because I close out the end of the night,” she said, adding that her coworkers also help close and could see the same thing.

According to the lady’s account, the manager kept repeating that nobody would receive tips and never explained where the money went. Feeling cheated, she quit the next day. “That is why I quit my job for getting my tips stolen by the f**king manager,” the former employee said. She also mentioned that she contacted Dog Haus corporate but never received a response and urged viewers, “If you decide to go to Dog Haus Frisco, don’t.”

What People Are Saying About the Frisco Tip-Theft Allegation

Many commenters encouraged her to take formal action. “Texas Workforce Commission would probably love to hear from you,” one person wrote. A different netizen echoed that advice, writing, “Contact the Texas Workforce Commission and file a wage complaint. That’s illegal and the state takes it seriously.” A third added, “You can sue them. It’s called the Fair Labor Standards Act. I know because I’ve sued an old place I worked at and won.”

Some also called out the management’s behavior. “Not another place stealing tips from you! F**king weirdos,” one comment read. Someone else reasoned, “If the company is not calling you back. Then the company is keeping the tips, not your manager.” One other person expressed personal disappointment in the brand. “Aw this makes me incredibly sad, I love Dog Haus. Managers legally cannot collect tips. I’d report him to the US Department of Labor wage and hour division, as well as corporate,” they wrote.

Several viewers discussed how they would handle tipping at a place with such allegations. “If I knew that a place was doing that to the wait staff I wouldn’t tip or give it to the person cash in the hand. Sorry you have a terrible boss,” one person said. Another suggested, “Did u report him to corporate? Also file a lawsuit with him. The customers shouldn’t be paying tips if it’s not a tip place. If it’s in the system they can access it. Especially if you have to enter the credit card ones.”
