Today is Halloween! In the spirit of celebrating this fun holiday, thanks to Nested Universe, we would like to share some really cool Funko Pops! with you to start your Halloween Day. These vinyl figures bring back memories of the 80’s sitting on the couch hiding behind a blanket or pillow peeking around at the television screen. We didn’t really watch the movies because of the substance of the story as much as we wanted to tell our friends we watched it. It was the cool thing to do!
Michael Myers
Let’s start with a series of movies that began in the late 70’s, Halloween. Michael Myers comes from this movie. All you need to hear is this song and you know exactly who I’m talking about. You can find more of the really cool music from these movies here!
This figure is almost cute, which is a little awkward considering what Michael Myers was capable of doing. The only criticism I would have is the mask is gray instead of white. Everyone knows, Michael wore a white mask!
Freddy Krueger
In 1984, we were introduced to Freddy Krueger from Nightmare on Elm Street. After watching this movie, you didn’t want to go to sleep!
Playa TV put together this pretty cool video to show the beginning of Freddy Krueger. Where did he come from? Find out here!
Pinhead
In 1987, the first Hellraiser movie came out, introducing the world to Pinhead. I never really watched this movie, but I do remember thinking he looked really scary on the cover of the movie. I find the Pop! The figure of Pinhead to be less intimidating than the movie character…
If you are interested in seeing how Pinhead comes to fruition, take a look at this video (WARNING: This video contains graphic content!)
Angel
The year 1992 brought one of the most famous vampires, Angel, from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Funko Pop! acknowledged the popularity of the character by creating this vinyl figure…
This vampire was so popular, he got his own spin-off series, Angel!
Sally
The final Pop! figure Nested Universe sent to us to celebrate Halloween is Nightshade Sally, the rag doll from The Nightmare Before Christmas.
There you have it! Doesn’t that put you in the mood to celebrate the classic scary movies from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s? You should find at least one of these movies to watch before you halt your Halloween celebrations for 2015. If you haven’t seen any of these movies, now is the time! You might even be able to find one on TV before the weekend is over.
