However, Meghan Markle reportedly frowns against this arrangement.
Meghan Markle Upset Over Kate Middleton’s Vogue Cover
Speaking to Radar Online, a source claimed the Duchess of Sussex, who guest-edited the style magazine in 2019, was furious with Middleton’s Vogue offer. According to the source, Meghan Markle deemed “Vogue” and the fashion industry her territory, and felt Kate Middleton would be overstepping by featuring on the global Vogue covers. The source claimed,
“Meghan Feels like she has the royal monopoly on all things health, beauty, and fashion. She has the lifestyle brand, the home in Montecito, the Netflix show in the pipeline, and a direct line to all the beautiful people in the U.S.”
Going further, the source explained how Markle believed that her lifestyle brand, Netflix show, life in the luxurious Montecito neighborhood of California, and her celebrity-packed friendlist made her more suitable for the Vogue offer. The source added,
“So she’s kinda fuming that Kate seems to be stepping out of her lane and into Meghan’s territory. She feels with Kate’s love of the outdoors she should be on the cover of some kind of countryside magazine dedicated to horses and hiking, not Vogue.”
Despite Meghan Markle’s alleged fury, Kate Middleton is reportedly eager to swoop in on the Vogue cover offer without hesitation. One source claimed the Princess of Wales was “ready to stir the pot” and make her mark as a global fashion icon after her daunting health journey. According to the source, the Princess always loved the “glamorous side” of royalty and found herself itching to do more things that make her shine. That includes gracing the cover of renowned style magazines in the US and the UK, which by some twist of fate, has been offered to her on a platter.
Would Middleton Appear on the Global Covers of Vogue?
Last Month, sources confirmed to Daily Mail that the editor-in-chief of Vogue reached out to Kate Middleton via an intermediary, proposing her appearance on the global Vogue covers. However, neither the Princess of Wales nor the infamous style publication has confirmed this arrangement.
According to UK’s Express, Vogue’s editor-in-chief Anna Wintour addressed the reports during her appearance at Buckingham Palace earlier this month. The outlet revealed that the 75-year-old, awarded the Order of the Companions of Honor title on February 4, for her contributions to fashion appeared to dismiss the speculations as mere “rumors,” albeit playfully. While Wintour’s smile suggested her dismissal might be a playful jibe, Kate Middleton’s 2025 appearance in the Global Vogue covers would most certainly offer the final confirmation.
