A couple of game bundles had popped up on websites for certain European retailers in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. These listings were for a Shenmue 1 and 2 pack and for a Bayonetta and Vanquish pack. Oddly enough, the Shenmue pack did not have a release date, while the other pack had two different ones for each country. If it seems a bit confusing, it’s because the situation itself is a little odd. Both listings have already apparently been removed from the sites they appeared on, as no trace of them remains.
Shenmue developer Ys Net is already working on the third game in the series, which has been a long time in coming. It’s only natural that game bundles would release in advance. And remember that it will be available for PS4 and Xbox One when it arrives. The strange part is the lack of a release date and the removal from the site (though that may well be just because they don’t have an image for it yet. Maybe?).
The other of the game bundles is a bit puzzling. Bayonetta 1 and 2 released in a dual pack for the Nintendo Wii U some time ago, and Platinum Games has stated that the company is discussing a third game. Sounds pretty similar to the Shenmue thing, right? Yet this second bundle, the one only in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, featured only the first Bayonetta, paired with another game called Vanquish. Again, the pack’s for Xbox One and PS4, but the release dates for the two countries were totally different: October in Slovakia and November in the Czech. Again, the listings have vanished from the sites.
This kind of thing happens from time to time. Retailers will post listings in advance or big discounts, then hurriedly remove them. Since one of the game bundles had a release date, it’s certainly possible it will resurface sometime later, so keep an eye out.
