The final season of Game of Thrones comes out next month, making April a very bittersweet month as the series comes to a close. To celebrate (and allow us to continue pretending to be in that world), HBO has teamed up with creators Dire Wolf Digital to bring us a new tabletop game based on the TV series called Game of Thrones: Oathbreaker.
Coming just in time for the final season, Oathbreaker is described as a game of intrigue and betrayal. It will allow us all to live the fantasy of taking over the throne, or just messing things up for the fun of things. I shall definitely be playing as Tyrion, for I drink and I know things. Well, I drink, so Iโm halfway there.
The synopsis from the official site reads as follows:
โGame of Thrones: Oathbreaker is a game of deception and social deduction. One player assumes the role of King or Queen, while the others represent the great Lords and Ladies of the Houses of Westeros. Some are loyalists who want order in the realm. Game of Thrones: Oathbreaker releases Spring this year retailing at $35. Played with 5-8 people (age 14+), each game should last approximately 30-45 minutes. The game sounds interesting and surely wonโt cause too many arguments between friends and family as they try to stab each other in the back.
