Remember 2006, there was that one trailer, a war torn city crumbling around a bandana wearing protein fiend, we followed our new friend as he ran down a dark alley, jumping straight through a window at the first sign of danger, only to realise he’d just put him self in far worse danger, that magical minute with Mad World playing along over the top.
Then the Xbox 360 logo appears at the end of the commercial.
It blew my mind.
‘Gears of War‘ was it’s name and a flagship title for the Xbox 360, arguably one of the most successful trilogies for Microsoft.
Nearly ten years later, after leaving Epic Games in 2012 after 20 years with the company Cliff ‘Cliffy B’ Bleszinski, Co Founder of new Company Boss Key Productions has revealed the title for his new game will be called Lawbreakers which is set for release in 2016.
They called this little mishap ‘The shattering’ which nearly caused the earth to split in two, small problems started to arise after this event like ocean’s boiling and gravity having a mind of its own and never being the same again.
Typical success story happens after, humanity rises from this tragic event stronger than ever, rebuilding the world in a newer more perfect image than before, embracing the new floaty low gravity islands and rocks that cover the skyline.
It almost sounds romantic.
Until the gangs arrived, thanks to the new gravity and supplement use people became near super human with what they could do, resulting in the cartel banding together to make the evilly named ‘Breakers’.
These ‘Breakers’ successfully managed to take over America, obviously because no where else in the world exists? If anyone would over come this common enemy it would be the Americans, saying that I’m British so don’t aim to much hate at me.
Narcotics and War now became the problem at hand and Law enforcement decided its time to keep the peace and band together, the trailers protagonist and buddy named Sam decide to sign up on the first day.
To WAR. They happily scream.
Enter catchphrase ‘You either uphold the law, or you break it’
Judge Dredd eat your heart out.
Now some details where released through out the stream with Bleszinski saying it would be a 5 vs 5 arena based shooter, pitting ‘Breakers’ against ‘The Law’.
The game revolves around three things.
GUNS.
GANGS.
GRAVITY.
An official trailer should be released this coming Friday 28th August.

Did I mention it’s Free to Play.
What did you think of the CG trailer?
Intrested or does it just sound like another shooter we don’t need?
