Growing Flowers During the A Gifted Rose Quests in Genshin Impact

After helping Sabbah grow her Sumeru roses during “The Exile” World Quest in Genshin Impact, players will be able to begin a follow-up questline, “A Gifted Rose.” As a direct continuation of the Traveler’s efforts to nurture greenery for the residents of Aaru Village, “A Gifted Rose” involves participants visiting another villager by the name of Affan, who is struggling to plant his flowers. However, a central gimmick of this five-part World Quest series is that progression is based on their server’s daily reset. In other words, to complete “A Gifted Rose” in Genshin Impact, players must progress the story over five real-time days.

Affan's Location for A Gifted Rose in Genshin Impact

Similar to “The Exile” World Quest, “A Gifted Rose” requires Genshin Impact fans to apply a specific element to the flowers grown by Affan. However, instead of Dendro, players will need Hydro this time, meaning that units such as Yelan or Nilou can be used for the task.

As mentioned above, “A Gifted Rose” in Genshin Impact is divided into five parts, which take place over a five-day period that follows the daily reset of one’s server. These parts include “Prickly as Thorns,” “Long Day Ahead,” “Can Stones Bloom,” “Ballad of Days Gone By,” and “Some People Never Fade Away.” Based on gameplay footage provided by YouTuber ON Game, players can refer to the index below for how each of these World Quest parts can be fulfilled:

A Gifted Rose: Quest Walkthrough
Prickly as Thorns
  1. Travel to Affan, which is located north of Aaru Village.
  2. After accepting the quest from Affan, clear the Withering Zone near his nursery.
  3. Report back to Affan and then wait for the daily reset to occur.
Long Day Ahead
  1. Return to Affan’s location.
  2. Water his flowers using the Hydro element.
  3. Wait for another real-time day to pass.
Can Stones Bloom
  1. Repeat the same process as “Long Day Ahead.”
Ballad of Days Gone By
  1. Speak to Affan after another daily reset.
  2. Head to Aaru Village and talk with Sabbah, the NPC whom players met during “The Exile.”
  3. Return to Affan’s location, attack his dried-up roses, and apply Dendro to each of their plots.
Some People Never Fade Away
  1. Return to Affan after another daily reset and use Dendro to “awaken” the roses.
  2. Travel to three spots in the desert: two near The Dune of Carouses and one by The Dune of Elusion.
  3. At each of these locations, destroy the dead flowers to retrieve their seeds.
  4. Head to Affan’s nursery, plant the seeds, apply Dendro to each of the plots, and wait for a server reset before applying Dendro again.
  5. Speak with Affan to conclude the “A Gifted Rose” questline in Genshin Impact.
