Amber, one of the first characters you get in this stage, is good enough to turn the starshroom into its shriveled form. Hit the starshroom with a pyro attack for the transformation. Collect your scorched starshroom. You go back to the Aranara, who will ask you to spare it the scorched starshroom and viparya. Give it the transformed starshroom and start looking for the viparyas if you did not have it already.
