Genshin Impact is many things but is perhaps not as player-friendly as possible. Fans often chide the game for lacking substantial quality-of-life features, especially compared to Genshin’s sister game, Honkai: Star Rail. The lack of these features, such as the lack of artifact load-outs, is admittedly frustrating at times, and one player discovered an attempted quality-of-life feature that many in the Genshin Impact community perceive as useless.
A Puzzling Genshin Impact Quality of Life Change
A while back, HoYoverse introduced a change to the daily commission system, allowing you to earn “points” that go towards your daily commission progress by completing events or exploring the open world. This was an appreciated way to speed up your daily tasks for the day, and in Version 4.4, HoYoverse added a way to quickly redeem your final daily commission rewards as well. Well, at least that was the intention.
Reddit user /u/Peddrawm pointed out in a post that the new “Claim Rewards” button on the daily commission screen is useless, as it does not quickly grant you your daily commission rewards. It instead brings up your map and points you to the teleport waypoint closest to the local Adventurer’s Guild. This is generally no different than bringing up the map yourself.
In Honkai: Star Rail, the daily commission system works somewhat similarly to Genshin Impact, but it also allows you to immediately claim your final rewards. This is not a huge deal, obviously, but it is an exacerbation of the idea that HoYoverse is, for some reason, averse to simple quality-of-life changes in Genshin Impact.
Ultimately, the change is harmless and can be helpful to those who need a little reminder to claim their rewards at the end of the day. However, community sentiment nowadays leans towards a strong desire for some quality-of-life buffs in Genshin Impact, and the lack of such buffs is a pain point for many players. Hopefully, they’ll be able to improve the daily commission system even more in the future.
