The wait is finally over! After countless leaks and speculation, HoYoverse has finally graced us with the launch date trailer of Fontaine, the Hydro Nation coming with Genshin Impact 4.0. Besides the long-awaited launch date, the latest Special Program featured the characters and events coming to the title. For those who thought the game was getting stale with no big updates, Genshin Impact is about to get bigger. So, buckle up and prepare your diving suits because Paimon and the Traveler are about to journey to a new nation.

The Release Date for Fontaine in Genshin Impact 4.0 Is August 16

On August 16, players can enjoy Fontaine, the Hydro Nation, set to arrive with the 4.0 version of Genshin Impact. This is the next big expansion for the game that’ll introduce a new cast of characters and many new gameplay mechanics. These are all the things that were announced during the Special Program:

  • New Nation: Fontaine
  • 3 New Playable Characters:
    • Lynette (4 Stars)
    • Lyney (5 Stars)
    • Freminet (4 Stars)
  • 3 Re-Runs:
    • Yelan (First Phase)
    • Zhongli (Second Phase)
    • Tartaglia (Second Phase)
  • New Diving Mechanic
  • Mega Meka Melee Event
    • Rewards include a free Bennett
  • Ley Line Overflow Event
  • 2 New Artifact Sets:
    • Marechaussee Hunter Set
    • Golden Troupe Set
  • New Weapons

The launch date announcement for Fontaine and the 4.0 version of Genshin Impact was full of surprises and a fantastic cinematic trailer. While this is just the beginning, the story will feature many characters that will hopefully be playable.

Even if many might miss Sumeru, it seems HoYoverse is raising the stakes regarding the game’s story and we can’t wait to see what mysteries await us. In the meantime, save as many Primogems as possible before traveling to this new nation.

Genshin Impact is available on Mobile, PC, and PlayStation.
