Genshin Impact Spiral Abyss guide
For starters, the Spiral Abyss in Genshin Impact provides a buff to your team called the “Blessing of the Abyssal Moon.” For Version 4.4, the Blessing of the Abyssal Moon provides the following effect:
“When a character receives healing, it will be counted. When the count reaches 16, a shockwave will be unleashed at the character’s position, dealing True DMG to nearby opponents and clearing the count. One such shockwave can be unleashed every 8 seconds.”
Recommend Characters For The Spiral Abyss in Genshin Impact
With the Blessing of the Abyssal Moon benefiting healers, we recommend bringing a character who can provide healing instead of shielders for your defensive unit. Due to the open-ended nature of the Blessing, we can utilize a decent amount of teams in this Spiral Abyss. Here are some characters we recommend for the Spiral Abyss in Genshin Impact:
- Neuvillette / Kuki Shinobu: Neuvillette is a monstrous DPS character who excels at dealing with boss units in the second half of this Spiral Abyss. He also regularly heals himself while dealing damage, which will add some additional damage to your rotation. Kuki Shinobu can enable him by providing some extra healing and also triggering the Electro-Charged reaction.
- Any bow character: The second half of the Spiral Abyss features boss enemies that can be disabled by bow characters, such as the Aeonblight Drake. Bringing characters like Fischl, Yelan, or Ganyu can help assist you in making these fights easier.
- Furina: Furina is an obvious choice to bring into the Spiral Abyss. Taking her with you in the first half of the Spiral Abyss will help destroy some Dendro shields that will be present in the fight, as well as boost your team’s damage. With Furina’s HP drain mechanic, it will also constantly create a need for healing, which you can take advantage of with the Blessing of the Abyssal Moon buff.
How to Beat the Spiral Abyss in Genshin Impact
Floor 12-1-1:
This half of the Spiral Abyss features the enemies: Construction Specialist Mek-Ousia and Large Overgrown Breacher Primus. In this Spiral Abyss, the first half of each floor usually features two groups of enemies, with each wave containing two enemies. As such, utilizing AoE damage is your best bet in killing these enemies efficiently.
We went with a Freeze team with Kazuha and Wriothesley to easily deal with two enemies at the same time. Utilizing a Freeze team also means we can better keep the enemies in one place, allowing our AoE damage to be more effective. However, if you don’t have the luxury to run a Freeze team, you can also utilize National teams such as Sucrose, Xiangling, Bennett, and Xingqiu.
Floor 12-1-2:
This half of the Spiral Abyss features the Ruin Serpent boss. This is an annoying boss in the Spiral Abyss as it will spend a significant chunk of time burrowed underground, making it difficult to deal damage. Neuvillette is a good character to bring here, thanks to his high single-target damage and his relatively quick damage rotations. However, you can consider bringing characters like Yoimiya or Hu Tao as well, who also excel in single-target damage.
The Ruin Serpent has a phase where it will spin rapidly in a circle, and parts of its body will light up. While you can use a Bow character to shoot these glowing body parts, it will most likely spin too fast for you to hit efficiently. Your best bet is to throw skills and Elemental Bursts at the boss during this phase and hope that you’re able to destroy all of the glowing body parts that way.
If you succeed, the Ruin Serpent will become disabled, giving you your biggest window to deal damage.
Floor 12-2-1:
This half of the Spiral Abyss features four Eremite enemies: one Enchanter, one Galehunter, one Ring-Dancer, and one Scorching Loremaster. AoE damage is especially important for this chamber, as the Eremite enemies summon additional mobs to fight alongside them. Defeating the mobs will also significantly damage the main Eremite enemies, so the efficient way to kill these enemies is by killing the mobs and the Eremites at the same time.
Bringing a grouper such as Kazuha or Sucrose is pretty essential for this half, allowing you to distribute high amounts of damage to numerous foes at the same time.
Floor 12-2-2:
This half of the Spiral Abyss features the Setekh Wenut boss. If the Ruin Serpent irritated you with its invulnerability phases, the Setekh Wenut is even worse, spending the majority of its time ducking and weaving underground. Using characters like Neuvillette and Yoimiya is extremely useful here, as their damage rotations are quick and can quickly deal damage while the boss is above ground.
Your biggest window of damage will come during its second phase. The Setekh Wenut will arise from underground, spawning numerous Anemo orbs around its body. You have to destroy these orbs with Elemental DMG, which will stun the boss and reduce the corresponding Elemental RES. (For example, if you destroy the orbs with Hydro attacks, it will lower the Setekh Wenut’s Hydro RES.)
Neuvillette is extremely useful here, as his water geyser is extremely efficient in breaking these orbs. Using bow characters like Yoimiya or Fischl can also break these orbs easily. Characters like Ganyu or Kuki Shinobu can also strategically place their Elemental Bursts near the Anemo orbs, which will quickly beat this phase as well.
Floor 12-3-1:
This half of the Spiral Abyss features the Assault Specialist Mek and Suppression Specialist Mek enemies. The strategy here is similar to the other first halves of the Spiral Abyss. Utilize AoE damage to quickly take these foes down.
One important thing to note about this fight is the Arkhe alignment system. To keep it brief, these enemies are Ousia-aligned, meaning Pneuma-aligned attacks will disable them. Disabling these enemies won’t contribute much damage, but it should allow you to easily deal damage without worrying about them fighting back.
Disabling these enemies with Pneuma attacks isn’t essential (we used a team without any Pneuma attacks). However, if you’re having trouble with this half, bringing characters like Lyney or utilizing Furina’s Pneuma form should help you clear this fight a bit faster.
Floor 12-3-2:
This half of the Spiral Abyss features the Aeonblight Drake boss. This boss is mostly a DPS check with easy-to-dodge patterns. When the Aeonblight Drake flies into the sky, you can use a bow character to shoot the parts of its body that glow. When each glowing part is disabled, the boss will be stunned, allowing you to easily output some damage. Fortunately, after the Setekh Wenut and Ruin Serpent, an easy boss like this is a welcome sight.
Those are the best tips and strategies to utilize for Genshin Impact’s Version 4.4 Spiral Abyss. This is a pretty simple Spiral Abyss, where you should utilize one AoE damage team and one single-target damage team. Learning the boss mechanics is important for your success, so be sure to practice quickly destroying these bosses.
