Gacha games, especially HoYoverse games, introduce new characters at an accelerated rate. This makes a lot of sense considering how the characters are the main attraction in this type of game. in addition, HoYoverse usually features two 5-star and 4-star characters per version, and each version lasts approximately 42 days. Sometimes, it takes so much work to keep up with the banner rotation, even when Genshin and Honkai only had one banner per update. Although this lengthened the reappearance of some re-runs, Honkai Star Rail may be planning to introduce the Chronicled Wish Banner of Genshin Impact.
Genshin Impact added a third type of banner during its 4.5 version, the Chronicled Wish. In this banner, you could find re-runs of various 5-star weapons and Mondstadt characters in which players could decide which item or character they’d be guaranteed to obtain. This mechanic derived from the long waiting times for specific re-runs, such as Eula’s, which took about 40 weeks to reaper into the game. So Honkai Star Rail’s decision to have a banner like Chronicled Wish will allow players to make better character builds by choosing one of the Signature Light Cones. Even users could get characters to better balance their team compositions.
However, so far, Genshin Impact has only had one version of its Chronicled Wish. The future of this feature is uncertain, such as when it will be available again, if the characters will change, or if other nations will appear too. If the Chronicled Wish does make its way to Honkai Star Rail, we can only hope that it will be a permanent banner, rotating or adding characters from time to time. At this point, it’s only a leak, and there’s no indication of when this mechanic might arrive. It’s a bit disappointing, as I could really use it to secure Luocha or Huohuo right now.
