An elderly man at a Goodwill store in Macon, Georgia, allegedly called out an interracial couple, with the Black woman saying he questioned their relationship and referred to Black people as ‘apes.’ He questioned why her white boyfriend chose to date a Black woman instead of a white woman.
@vixenunfiltered shared the video on TikTok. The caption read, “Sadly racism is still alive even when they’re halfway dead.”
The footage was later reshared by X account @LongTimeHistory, which described the encounter as unprovoked. The account claimed the man walked across the store to abuse the couple and even offered to fight the woman.
The shaky recording shows clothing racks, hangers, and other items inside the thrift store. An elderly white man with a gray beard, a light-colored baseball-style cap, and a dark short-sleeved shirt appears briefly near a clothing rack. The camera frequently swings toward the floor and nearby merchandise, so the footage does not clearly show every moment of the reported exchange.
In the audio, the woman explains what happened, saying the man walked up to her boyfriend and questioned his choice of partner. “Whoever this old white man right here, he walked up to my boyfriend, he said out of all the white women in the world, you choose a black woman. They are nothing but apes,” she can be heard saying.
She also appears to challenge him over his behavior, saying she should have knocked him over. The woman continues speaking as the situation escalates, and the clip includes repeated remarks that nothing had happened before the man approached them.
