U.S. Rep. Clay Fuller announced on X that he’s introducing an article of impeachment against Judge Eleanor L. Ross of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, working with Rep. Jim Jordan.

According to his post, the judge is accused of having an extramarital affair with a high-ranking Atlanta Police Department official inside her federal courthouse chambers during office hours, within earshot of her staff, while she was presiding over criminal cases. The announcement has drawn significant online attention amid public debate over judicial accountability and the unusual circumstances described.

The video shows U.S. Rep. Clay Fuller speaking straight to the camera from inside his vehicle. He says he will be introducing an article of impeachment against Judge Eleanor Ross for high crimes and misdemeanors. Fuller gives special thanks to Chairman Jim Jordan and his team for helping put the article together.

According to what Fuller says in the video, Judge Ross was engaged in an extramarital affair with a high-ranking officer from the Atlanta Police Department. He explains that it wasn’t just the affair itself, which he notes is illegal under the Georgia state code, but that it happened in her chambers inside a federal courthouse and within hearing of her own employees and clerks. Fuller states that Judge Ross has no business being on the federal bench because she has shown she doesn’t have the ethical conduct or behavior to keep serving as a federal judge. That’s why, he says, the article of impeachment was offered and introduced. The video contains only Fuller’s statement and no footage of the alleged events.

Public Takes on the Georgia Judge Impeachment Filing

Some users expressed appreciation for addressing the matter while questioning whether it would produce results. One wrote, “Thank you. But can we have someone remind Speaker Johnson and Jim Jordan that articles of impeachment against Judge Boberg have been gathering dust in committee since April 2025?”

Others voiced similar doubts about follow-through, with comments predicting the filing would “just sit on somebody’s desk for the next four years” and that “Nobody is ever held accountable.”

Other responses focused on the alleged conduct and questions about workplace standards or practicality. Commenters observed that most taxpayers would be fired for similar behavior on the job, with one noting, “What job can you have sex on the job? Both are government workers who are being paid by taxpayers. We taxpayers, would be fired immediately for such behavior???? Rules for thee, not for me, folks humm.”

Sarcastic remarks questioned how the judge could have presided over cases during the alleged activity, while one user familiar with the case described it as “disgusting to have a federal judge conduct themselves in such a way and certainly shows that she lacks judgment.”

The article of impeachment is scheduled to be formally introduced on Monday. The announcement has added to the ongoing online conversation about accountability for federal judges.
