How would you feel if your meal went missing after your Uber driver said they had left it in front of your door? Are there raccoons in your area? Are your neighbors responsible? Or did your driver just take the food for themself? A Georgia woman was able to catch her delivery driver stealing her meal almost immediately after pretending to deliver it. The driver, who was caught red-handed on camera, walked up to the porch and placed the food on a small black table. Seconds after taking a photo to confirm the drop-off, she grabbed the bag and hurried back toward her car.
The customer shared the footage on TikTok, saying she couldn’t believe what she was watching. “So y’all tell me why the DoorDash driver really tried to steal my food,” she wrote in one of the captions of her videos. “She took the little picture like she dropped it off, but baby, when I called her and said, ‘I see you,’ she picked that bag right back up and drove off!” The driver later shamefully returned with the food, and the homeowner, who was now standing on her porch, confronted her about it. “I seen [sic] you on the camera… I’m going to report you for stealing my food,” she said. “Why you can’t go buy your own food? Don’t be stealing my food.” The driver didn’t say a word and just walked away after leaving the food on the table.
Netizens React to the Georgia Delivery Driver’s Food Snatch
Most people in the comments found the delivery driver’s actions outrageous. One person commented, “Like what’s the reason people do this.” A second said, “I would be mad and make the Uber driver pay for my meal along with pressing charges on her and filing a report.” A third wrote, “This is messed up. I’ve done DoorDash multiple different times and for someone to order food and then the driver that’s literally getting paid to deliver the food turns around and takes it… That’s aggravating.” “Why do they keep stealing food,” one comment asked.
Several viewers agreed they wouldn’t eat the meal even if it was returned. “Wouldn’t eat it now, definitely REPORT!” one person said. Another added, “I wouldn’t trust eating that after all that!” A few also praised the homeowner for catching the driver in time. “I’m glad you didn’t let up,” one person remarked. “Bet she won’t do that again.”
