Recently, a young woman in Decatur, Georgia, came face-to-face with a stranger who clearly thought he had more game than he actually did.
In the now-viral video that she shared on Instagram, the man approached her while she was sitting alone and reading. He stood uncomfortably close to her, wearing a red long-sleeve shirt with a company logo on it and a wide grin. He remained in her space for a while and even went as far as touching her.
She calmly told him not to touch her, but instead of taking the hint that he should back off, he continued to linger. After tolerating his behavior for as long as she could, the woman reacted. While still seated, she struck him, knocking him backward and creating some distance between them.
He Couldn’t Believe It
The man stumbled several steps back, clearly caught off guard. For a moment, it seemed like that would be enough to make him run for the hills, but it wasn’t. Instead, he just stood there, pointing a finger at her. The woman then got up, set her belongings down, and moved toward the man ready to confront him again, when a bystander quickly stepped in to try to de-escalate the situation.
He held the man back and attempted to guide him away, but the man continued trying to move toward the woman. At one point, it appeared that he reached into his pocket for something, which many viewers later speculated could have been a weapon. The bystander, however, managed to keep him under control and eventually led him away from the area.
Since netizens noticed that the logo on the man’s shirt read “Sanchez Roofing LLC,” some immediately directed their anger toward the company. However, the woman claims that the company later reached out to her to clarify that they were not connected to the individual in the video. According to her, they expressed concern about the backlash they had been receiving online, including negative comments and reviews.
The woman said that she never intended for the company to be targeted and urged people to stop leaving hateful comments, adding that her goal in sharing the video was simply to raise awareness about women’s safety.
