If you’re a diehard Pokemon fan, the odds are good that you’ve heard of Pokemon TV. The streaming app is one of a few available to download for the Nintendo Switch, a market that hasn’t been tapped by Netflix, Max, or Disney+ yet. Pokemon TV gives users access to several seasons of the anime, specials, and past Pokemon World Championships. Unfortunately, if you’re a fan of the Pokemon TV app, you’re going to want to get your fix before it’s gone for good. According to an official release from The Pokemon Company, Pokemon TV will be shut down for good on March 28th, 2024.
Pokemon Shuts Down The Pokemon TV App, But You Can Still Watch the Shows
In a news release available on their website, The Pokemon Company released a statement earlier today stating that they would be shutting down Pokemon TV in just a few months. According to the release, the service for the app will end on March 28th. However, the Pokemon TV app will be pulled from stores very soon: beginning today, January 8th, Pokemon TV will no longer be available on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, Nintendo eShop, or it’s other locations.
However, if you’re one of the Pokemon TV fans that already had the app prior to today, you’re in the clear until it shuts down for good. According to the official announcement:
[T]hose who already had the app downloaded on their devices prior to January 8, 2024, will still be able to watch available content until the app fully sunsets on March 28, 2024.”
