Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered has received a release date of October 4, 2019. Players will get to relive the entire story with updated graphics and the same classic characters with their trademark wit.

As everyone knows, the original Ghostbusters movie released all the way back in 1984. Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson portrayed the titular heroes Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, Egon Spengler, and Winston Zeddemore, respectively. Other actors to appear were Sigourney Weaver, Rick Moranis, Annie Potts, and William Atherton. With a script by Akroyd and Ramis, the movie released to raving reviews. Critics praised the balance of visual effects with the comedy relief and on-screen chemistry between the cast. The franchise went on to become a worldwide phenomenon, spawning a sequel in 1989 titled Ghostbusters II.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game

Ghostbusters: The Video Game was released back in 2009 to great fanfare. Critics praised the original story, written once again by Dan Akyroyd and Harold Ramis. Most of the cast from the original Ghostbusters film returned to voice their iconic characters. The game is set in 1991, two years after the second film, with players joining the team as a new rookie. Cast members were excited for this new entry, referring to the game as the third movie in the franchise.

Online multiplayer was available to players in the original game and the remaster will have a multiplayer mode as well. However, it will not be present in the initial launch; It will instead arrive in a later update. The developers at Saber Interactive have said that they are rebuilding the multiplayer mode completely. What this means is anybody’s guess, but hopefully, it leads to hours of zany, cooperative gameplay. After all, busting always makes you feel good!

Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered is coming to PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows. With another movie on the way in 2020, fans will have non-stop ghostbusting action! Will you answer the call when mass hysteria strikes again? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
