We’re only five days away from one of the greater releases this month, coming in the form of Ghostrunner. This high-speed first-person hack and slash title has been in development for a while now, and I’m excited to see just what it brings to the table. Given how much fun the demo is, I have no doubts that it’ll be a blast to play. Before launch though, developer One More Level Games is ready to take the game to the next level. In 2021, Ghostrunner will come to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. You can watch the latest trailer for the game below.
Ghostrunner follows the story of Jack, the final Ghostrunner of his kind who’s been cast down to the bottom of Dharma Tower. This towering megacity is the final home for humanity, who struggles to fight back extinction. Like Jack, it’s up to you to take revenge for a coup orchestrated by the current leader Mara, the Keymaster. With your katana in hand, you’ll slash and dodge your way up Dharma Tower through the security forces around you. Will you, with the help of the Architect, be able to stop Mara?
With how good the game looks thus far, I have no doubts it’ll make a fine home on the next-generation of consoles. For those looking to purchase the new towers, you’re in luck. Everyone who purchases Ghostrunner on PS4 or Xbox One will be able to upgrade to the next-gen version within their console family. Best of all, this will be free when it releases later next year. This joins the pre-order bonuses of Ghostrunner, including a katana and a discount depending on your platform.
I can’t contain my excitement for Ghostrunner’s release on Tuesday, but I’d like to hear your thoughts. Will you be playing Ghostrunner when it releases on next-gen? Any of my fellow PC fans excited to run through this game? Let me know in the comments below!
