It seems this year at the 2025 Golden Globes, we’re seeing more than just celebrities; their lookalikes have decided to make an appearance as well. The winners of both Glen Powell‘s and Timothee Chalamet‘s lookalike contests showed up at the Golden Globes carrying signs that said “I won a lookalike contest and now I’m at the Golden Globes.”
Maxwell Braunstein, who won a Glen Powell lookalike contest, and Miles Mitchell, who won a Timothee Chalamet lookalike contest made an appearance at the Golden Globes this evening, and they were certainly dressed the part. Each of them won contests for how similar they looked to the celebrities earlier this year, and in turn, got to experience celebrity life for a night.
Mitchell’s name became known in October of 2024, according to PEOPLE, where he won the contest in Washington Park, New York City. With dozens of contestants, Mitchell didn’t have the best chances of winning the contest, but when he did, Timothee Chalamet himself showed up.
On the other side of things, Braunstein won a lookalike contest for having such an uncanny resemblance to Glen Powell in Austin, Texas, where he also got a chance to meet his “twin” and hang out for a while. Braunstein won against hundreds of competitors.
Both Glen Powell and Timothee Chalamet received Golden Globes nominations this year for their roles in Hit Man, and A Complete Unknown. Powell and Chalamet were both nominated for best performance by a male actor in a motion picture. However, their lookalikes won’t get much more than the chance to hangout with the men they were born with a resemblance to.
However, some people weren’t too happy with their appearance, dropping comments in Instagram that read “What a scam,” “I think they look more like Justin Hartley and Alex Wolff,” and “I saw a guy on TikTok riding a mechanical bull that looked exactly like Timmy. This guy looks nothing like him,” while others found the situation to be hilarious. It seems the lookalikes are getting some mixed reactions.
