God of War Ragnarok takes you through various areas, and not all are easily accessible. In fact, some areas are impossible to cross without meeting other conditions first. This is true for the drawbridge at Cliffside Ruins you’ll encounter during your travels with Freya. We’ll show you everything you need to do to lower the drawbridge in Cliffside Ruins so you can continue your God of War Ragnarok journey.

How to Lower the Drawbridge at Cliffside Ruins in God of War Ragnarok

As you travel with Freya, you’ll make your way to Vanaheim. At Cliffside Ruins, you’ll notice a raised drawbridge and no way across. Unfortunately, you can’t trick your way through this obstacle. So, if you want to move on at Cliffside Ruins in God of War Ragnarok, you must follow a different quest.

There’s a ghost named Gunhild that haunts the Cliffside Ruins. Speak to him, and he’ll give you the favor called Conscience For The Dead. Your main objective is to slay the Seidr Fanatics. You must do this before lowering the drawbridge at Cliffside Ruins in God of War Ragnarok.

During this mission, Freya’s magic comes in handy. You must first clear a path to a hidden area called Goddess Falls. Head left from where you spoke to Gunhild and climb up the wall there. You’ll reach a platform where you’ll see Bramble. With Freya’s Sigil magic, you can destroy it.

Now, we’re one step closer to getting that drawbridge handled at Cliffside Ruins in God of War Ragnarok. With the bramble destroyed, a chain will drop. Head back down and climb up the chain. You’ll see an area where Kratos can carve a Rune into the wall. Once you do so, you will open the path to Goddess Falls.

To continue your journey in God of War Ragnarok at Cliffside Ruins, get back to the boat and head down the river. You’ll reach a fork, and once you turn left, you will reach another hidden area called The Veiled Passage. Once you dock the boat inside a cave, look to the back of the area, where you’ll notice a breakable wooden wall. Go through there and climb the upper platforms.

When you climb up, Kratos and Freya will take on plenty of Seidr Fanatics. Once they’re dead, you can get the cliffside Ruins shortcut via the drawbridge. Just follow the path along the mountains and winding hills. You’ll make your way to the opposite side of the drawbridge. You can pull a chain from here to lower the contraption.

And once you’ve lowered the drawbridge, you’ve unlocked the shortcut in God of War Ragnarok at Cliffside Ruins.
