One of the most shocking revelations during The Game Awards 2023 was the announcement of a free DLC for God of War: Ragnarok titled Valhalla. This new downloadable content is coming next week and will provide players with a roguelike mode where Kratos can take on several enemies, new and old, from the series. According to the official reveal, this will work as an epilogue for the main game, meaning we might get even more closure for Kratos’ latest adventure.

On December 12, 2025, anyone who owns the game can download Valhalla, the new roguelike game mode for this title. While we were not expecting any more content for the game, this news made everyone in and outside the show jump out of joy. Details for the game mode are scarce, but we imagine we’ll get more information a few days before its release.

It’s also uncertain if you must finish the main story first, but given how the studio mentions this is an epilogue, it might be safe to say that’ll be the case. Still, we hope some players can also experience this new content without restrictions.

Undoubtedly, God of War: Ragnarok was a fantastic game that got many awards last year, and while most of all left the game’s virtual lands, we are ready to return with the Valhalla DLC. Besides, we heard early this year that Santa Monica Studio is working on more projects, but it’s still uncertain if it’ll be another God of War title or something else. Still, whatever they make, we can imagine it’ll give us hours of fun, just like the studio’s previous titles.

If you didn’t catch the show, many more games made an appearance. A new trailer for Persona 3 Reload, Metaphor: ReFantazio, and Windblown. So, remember to visit our site to see everything you missed during The Game Awards 2023.
