Solo indie developer Thiago Martins Reis – better known as RedEmber_ on Twitter – has been working on his robust dungeon crawler Good Night, Knight for a while now, updating fans periodically on the games Tumblr dev blog. Earlier today, Reis revealed some exciting news: Good Night, Knight is headed to pre-alpha this Wednesday!
The pre-alpha, which will only be available to Patreon members, has been teased ever since a video was released on the blog April 1st. Alongside some backstory text, the video ended with our hero falling endlessly, until the games title and the text of May 2018 appeared on the screen.
Later that week Reis posted about the video, promising it wasn’t an April fools.
Hey! Just letting anyone wondering about the announcement on april 1st: Yes it is real!
The game is getting to a nice playable state and we’ll be moving into pre-alpha testing and following community feedback to help shape its future! The closed pre-alpha will be initially patron-exclusive for a while, then open to everyone.
To help us find the coolest songwriter for the game we will be changing the Patreon tiers prices slightly coming next month, specifically the one that awards the full game. If you have already pledged to receive the full game this month or a past one you are already lined to receive it so you don’t have to change it!

Thank you to all the supporters, so much of this wouldn’t be able to happen without you! And thank you all who share our excitement for Good Night, Knight!
While fans will finally get their hands on the title, the pre-alpha will also work to help test gameplay balances and hunt for any possible bugs.
Good Night, Knight’s closed pre-alpha will be available for Patreon members May 30, 2018. For more information, be sure to check back to the site for updates, as well as all of your other nerdy news and needs!
