Justin Long has joined the Goosebumps series. Disney+ is creating a reboot adaptation of the series, based on R.L. Stine’s books of the same name. It will follow a group of five high schoolers who unleash supernatural horrors on their small town. They have to work together to stop what they have caused. The Disney+ reboot adaptation is inspired by five of the most popular Goosebumps books. Justin Long will play Nathan Bratt in Goosebumps. Bratt is said to be “the new schoolteacher who develops a terrifying connection to a decades-old supernatural murder.” Nick Stoller and Rob Letterman are the writers and executive producers of the series. Stoller is producing under Stoller Global Solutions. Kevin Murphy is an executive producer and the showrunner for the series. Sony Pictures Television Studios is producing it. Neal H. Moritz and Pavun Shetty of Original Film will also be executive producers.
Justin Long is No Stranger to Horror
From Jeepers Creepers to Creepshow, Justin Long has been in some memorable horror content. Now he’s going to be in the Disney+ reboot adaptation of Goosebumps. The reboot series will not pay homage to the book series as the original did. Long will play Nathan Bratt in Goosebumps, but it’s whether or not he’s a hero or a villain. The Disney+ reboot adaptation of Goosebumps has a whole new approach and Justin Long will be in the thick of it. Long has experience playing in much more graphic and disturbing horror films, but since this one is on Disney+, there won’t be as big a risk of having nightmares. R.L. Stine made a cameo in the 2015 Goosebumps film, but there is no word on his involvement with this upcoming series. Moritz produced the 2015 and 2018 films and will be an executive producer of the series.
There’s no release date for the Disney+ reboot adaptation series.
