An elderly lady’s fun time kayaking on a lake in Florida soon turned into a fast and furious chase against some boaters playing loud music. The hot pursuit was captured on camera and shared on TikTok, labelling the senior woman a Karen. As seen in the video, while the boat sailed along with loud music blasting, an aged woman was spotted in a kayak following the boat. The person filming the video was heard saying, “She’s chasing us because we won’t turn the music down.”
The camera then panned to show the boat’s driver, who appeared to be having a good time with the loud song, a cigar in his mouth, unbothered by the woman’s pursuit. She shouted at the group, and although the music drowned out her words, it was evident she was upset.
Soon, one of the boaters told the driver to speed it up. With the vessel gaining momentum against the canoe, the elderly woman was seen paddling furiously. However, she was unable to meet up with the boat, causing the boaters to laugh at her.
Another view of the incident was captured when the aged lady came within proximity to the boat, still yelling at the group. When one female member told the kayaker she was “harassing” them, she fired back, saying, “You’re breaking the law.” The duo soon began exchanging words with the boater, yelling curse words at the woman, and insisting the woman was “harassing” them.
While the exchange was ongoing, the music continued to blast. At one point, the kayaking lady attempted to explain to the group that their actions were upsetting. However, they responded that they couldn’t hear her, which only made her more upset. She was then seen flapping the water angrily with the oars.
The group, shocked by her reaction, began yelling curse words at her. The clip quickly gained attention from Internet users who were divided over whose side to take. Amidst the divided interests, one internet user poked fun at the aged woman, writing, “At least she’s getting her cardio in.”
Another netizen opined that the woman only heard the music because she chose to pursue the boat. “If she just stayed where she was and didn’t chase them down, she wouldn’t hear the f**king music anymore,” the netizen criticized. “It’s a boat. Boats don’t have windows to roll up. It’s also not even f**king loud.
On the other hand, some users seemed to support the senior citizen’s request for quiet while criticizing the boaters.
One person wrote, “I don’t blame her. It’s irritating when a couple of people decide we all need to listen to their music.”
A second supporter added, “First time I ever rooted for Karen. I can’t stand people with obnoxiously loud music in nature.” Another commenter opined that the boaters were in the wrong writing, “They were there Karens themselves all along.”
Perhaps both sides were wrong.
